1. Who we are
noftime (“noftime”, “we”, “us”) provides the noftime app and website. You can reach us at support@noftime.com.
2. What noftime does
noftime is a focus timer that checks. You name a task, start a 25-minute round, and during the round the app periodically looks at your screen and asks an AI model whether what it sees matches the task you declared. Rounds where the work matched are credited as verified. Distracted, idle or unverified time is recorded but not credited.
Verified rounds build your record: words you commit to, daily commitments, and duels against a friend. The record is designed to be honest rather than flattering: a broken word stays visible, and a won retake replaces a loss without erasing it.
Verification is automated and probabilistic. The model can be wrong in either direction. We do not guarantee any particular verdict, and we do not edit verdicts on request. If a round was misjudged, you can run another one.
3. Your account
You sign in with a Google or Apple account. You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent where you live, whichever is higher.
One person per account. You are responsible for keeping your Mac and your Google or Apple account secure, and for everything done through your noftime account.
4. Permissions on your Mac
To verify a round, noftime needs macOS Screen Recording permission. You grant it in System Settings and can withdraw it at any time. Without it, rounds still run but accumulate as pending proof and are not credited.
Notifications are optional. They are how the app brings you back when you drift.
5. Trial and paid plans
Every new account gets ten days of the full product, unconditionally and without a payment method. After the trial, the plain timer stays free, duels stay free for as long as you keep winning them, and private verified work requires a paid plan.
Prices and what each plan includes are shown in the app before you buy anything. We never charge you without an explicit purchase. Plans and prices may change, but a change never applies to a period you have already paid for.
6. Your content and your record
Your tasks, words, commitments and everything else you type into noftime are yours. You give us the permission we need to store them, sync them between your devices, and show them to you, and, in a duel, to your opponent.
Your record is append-only. We keep it that way on purpose, and we do not rewrite, hide or delete individual outcomes on request. You can delete your whole account at any time (section 10).
7. Duels and sharing
When you invite someone to a duel, the invite link shows your display name, the word, the number of days and the daily target to anyone who opens it. Once accepted, you and your opponent see each other’s display name, day-by-day results and the final verdict.
Proof posts and images are created only when you ask for them, and they are handed to the app or service you chose. Once you have published something, we cannot take it back for you.
8. Acceptable use
Don’t:
- try to defeat verification: feeding the app staged or altered screens, tampering with the client, replaying or forging records;
- install noftime on someone else’s computer to watch them. noftime captures the screen of the person who signed in, with their knowledge and consent, and nothing else;
- abuse the service: automated calls, circumventing rate limits, probing our infrastructure;
- harass, impersonate or deceive other users, including your duel partners;
- use noftime for anything unlawful.
We may suspend or close accounts that do any of this.
9. Availability and changes
noftime is a small, evolving product. We may add, change or remove features, and the service may occasionally be unavailable. We will do our best to warn you about material changes in advance, inside the app.
10. Ending things
You can stop using noftime at any time. To delete your account and everything we hold about you, email support@noftime.com from the address on your account; see the Privacy Policy for what deletion covers.
We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if we discontinue the service. If we discontinue a paid plan, we will refund the unused part of what you paid.
11. Disclaimers
noftime is provided “as is” and “as available”. We make no promise that verification will be accurate, that the service will be uninterrupted, or that using noftime will make you more productive.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, noftime is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits or opportunities, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
13. Changes to these terms
When we change these terms we update the date at the top. If a change is material, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use noftime after that means you accept the new terms.
